How to make jeans soft at home

Classic denim is a dense and coarse fabric, which after special industrial processing becomes more plastic and soft. But, despite this, on sale there are models from tight jeans.

Usually these are jackets and jeans. Thicker denim models hold their shape better and are more suitable for the cooler season. You will need:

► jeans;

► baking soda;

► salt;

► Vinegar

Step 1

Pour hot water into the wash basin and completely dissolve a few tablespoons of salt in it.

Step 2

Soak the jeans in the resulting saline. Water should completely cover them. Leave for 2 hours.

Remove the jeans, drain the water and prepare a new solution in the basin: dilute 1 cup of food vinegar in 10 liters of warm water. Immerse jeans in this solution and leave for 2 hours.

Step 4

Remove the jeans from the vinegar solution and rinse thoroughly. Squeeze (all this can be done in the washing machine).

Step 5

Put wet jeans in the washing machine, and wash them with more powder than usual. Add 2 tablespoons of soda to the powder. The temperature of the wash set 50-60 °. Add twice as much emollient to the AC compartment.

There are other ways on the Internet, for example, mechanical using sandpaper. But this is a pretty risky way. By “wiping” the jeans from the wrong side with sandpaper, you inevitably destroy the threads of the denim. Of course, this will allow soft fabric, but in the end, this method of processing will lead to the fact that the jeans will quickly tear.

But a few other tips may well be:

1. To enhance the effect during washing, put a few tennis balls in the drum.

2. Dry tight jeans in a straightened form or on a special trouser hanger away from heaters and direct sunlight.

3. Always wear tight jeans when wet.

4. After washing, drying and ironing, put on jeans in a prone position. A little discomfort from how tight the jeans fit your figure will pass in a couple of hours.
