We sew with our own hands from old shirts. The shelves and backs turn into beautiful covers for the backs of chairs, from the sleeves we will create covers for the bottles, and the seat cushion is sewn from companion fabrics.
HOW TO MAKE A PATTERN
◄ Back width 30 cm
Rounding drawn on the back of a chair
Chair back height 40 cm
The intervals between the solid and dashed lines along the contour of the pattern - half the thickness of the back of the chair (on 3 sides of the pattern)
Measure width (including backrest thickness) and length (including half backrest thickness). According to the obtained values to make a pattern of paper. Be sure to check whether the covers on the sides have sufficient allowance. The bending of the back of the chair can be traced directly onto the paper. To do this, lay the back on a paper pattern and repeat the outline of the bend.
HOW TO CUT
Paper pattern: front part of the back, give 2 cm of seam allowances along the side and upper sections. ►
Do not rip the hem of the shirt or cut it off!
Spread the shelves and the back of the shirt along the side seams. Position the paper pattern for the front side of the cover in the middle of the back, the lower edge is combined with the hem of the shirt.
If the bottom edge of the shirt is bent, then it should not be cut off, let it stand for a paper pattern.
Pin the paper pattern and cut it out with allowances for 2 cm seams.
◄ The back side of the cover is cut from the shelves of the shirt, while the pattern must be positioned as high as possible, i.e. as close as possible to the collar of the shirt.
On a shirt to tear off breast pockets. Place the part for the back of the backrest in the middle of the buttoned shirt as high as possible (closer to the collar) so that the fastener strap is exactly in the middle of the paper pattern.
From the bottom edge of the pattern to the right and left, additionally draw 2 cm on the fabric. Now continue the pattern to the bottom edge of the shirt and cut out with allowances for 2 cm seams.
HOW TO SEW
The back of the case, cut from the shelves of the shirt ►
1 cm wide bar
2 cm = give 2 cm seam allowances
All-cut strips to cut to marks and overcast. Iron the planks on the wrong side by 1.5 cm, then tighten by 2.5 cm and sew to the edge.
To place the open pockets on the front side of the cover at a distance of 10-12 cm from the top edge and stitch.
Chip the front and back sides of the cover face-to-face and grind, while lowering the lower corners on the allowances so that they can be caught during grinding and then they remain closed. Cut allowances to a width of 1 cm and overcast.
Iron the cover and turn it out.
