The morning of the first day in Moscow forMaria Prokudina began with a tour of the Russian publishing house in the company with the editor-in-chief of the magazine Burda Marianna Makarova.
From the first minutes, Maria was conquered by the friendly atmosphere that prevails in the editorial office. A warm welcome, smiles - and you feel at home. And the tour becomes more like a pleasant conversation for a long time familiar people.

Maria was sincerely amazed that a small and friendly team of very talented and fabulously working people was working on organizing such a rather complicated process as creating a magazine.

Maria graduated from MIPT (GU). She is a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, specializing in condensed matter physics. Who would have thought that such a fragile, tender girl who sews gorgeous outfits is a physicist! The specificity of the work obliges Mary to wear pants. This is probably why she likes to sew dresses the most.
Masha started sewing recently, in the fall of 2008.Its main inspiration for new things - husband Michael. It was he who brought her to the magazine Burda, at one time his grandmother sewed on them. The whole process of creating a product and image takes place with the direct participation of Michael. He was keen on macro photography, but switched to portrait photography after Masha started sewing.
Maria is attracted to different models, but they should have something special, some kind of zest. It can be an interesting cut, some new details, operations, sewing knots. Most of all, she likes retro-style models, the main thing in which is to choose a model that is ideal for you, emphasize the dignity of the figure and fit perfectly into the style of a modern city. Maria’s doing it so well that it’s hard to imagine any other way.
Maria often buys fabrics on the go, but she always immediately thinks of a specific model for them. It happens the other way around - the model is selected and the right fabric is already selected for it. Maria prefers natural fabrics.
Sewing for Mary is a way of self-expression, a kind of counterbalance balancing all areas of her life. This is creativity. A way of knowing yourself, knowing other people. Veiled opportunity to speak out. And if in physics the charm and beauty of work is sometimes difficult to explain, then sewing is understandable to absolutely everyone and its final result is always visible.
In addition to sewing, Maria is fond of painting on glass, sometimes composes poetry, occasionally makes jewelry. She loves to read Russian and foreign classics, is fond of theater, in particular, opera and ballet.She is not indifferent to art and fashion history. Likes to travel. He is interested in Russian folk traditions, costume, and everyday life. Well, physics is the love of a lifetime that taught Maria non-female things, such as drilling and assembling various mechanisms.

After the award and interesting communication, Maria was waiting for the photo studio Burda with professional photographer, make-up artist and hairdresser.
Filming began with makeup and hairstyles. While Masha was in the hands of professionals, a team of stylists Burda picked up her images for the upcoming photo shoot.

It's nice to work with people who listen to you and allow you to influence the process of creating an image.
Photographing is a lot of work, which takes a lot of time and requires tremendous patience of all participants in the process.
Only the created image is not enough. It must be filed. Submit correctly so that the photographer sees you, the camera feels, and in the end - the photo showed the desired result. Masha did it well. Apparently the experience of photographing her works, which they organize with her husband, affected.
The images chosen for Mary were, although new to her, but still close in style. And some of the proposed she will certainly realize in the future in life.
In total, six images were selected - the city, a modern business woman, the romance of a summer morning, Viva Italy, Lady Dior, the image of a Hollywood diva.
The feeling of some unreality of what was happening persisted throughout the shooting day, as if it were some kind of movie. Everyone is scurrying around, doing something, light, camera."Command" how to get up, sit down, where to put your hands, feet, smile or make your face thoughtful. Maria turned out to be a very obedient and understanding model. But that's not the point. It seemed that she captures the mood and vision of the photographer.
Unusual and unusual on this day for Masha was absolutely everything. This day seemed to her a completely different life, the life of another person. Saturated not only with events, but also with emotions, impressions.
