What skirts are in fashion, how skirts differ in style, to whom what skirt goes, the story of the appearance of the skirt
In Spain of the 16th century, the female verdugado skirt (on the frame) was so heavy and stiff that it was put on the floor and "entered" into it. In the XVII century, European ladies wore up to a dozen skirts in winter at once, and all the lower skirts when walking could be considered. These skirts were colored and so wide that folding frames were specially invented for them. A century later, lower silk skirts became fashionable, so the ladies "rustled" past their gentlemen. And in the XIX century, colored petticoats went out of fashion, only white were considered decent.
Today we willingly wear skirts of various lengths and widths, fashion dictates freedom of choice. Mini, midi, maxi, pencil skirt, tulip skirt, with frills, assemblies and frills, from strict black gabardine or from romantic floral silk, any number of petticoats that can be replaced with multi-layered ruffles is also allowed. And the length can be combined already on one skirt: actual models are short in front and long in back. By the way, this option looks lovely with shuttlecocks.
Let us pay tribute to modern fashion, which does not particularly hamper our choice. And we will admire the options that world-famous designers offer us.
