How to make a box of paper - origami method
One of the easiest ways to make a box with your own hands is to fold it out of paper. You don’t even need glue. This option is suitable for the manufacture of boxes of small and medium size, if the paper is ordinary, thin. To make a large box, grab a large piece of paper tighter.
You will need:
- a square sheet of paper. If your sheet is rectangular, cut it to a square shape.
Step 1
Fold the sheet first twice obliquely. Expand. Then fold in half and again in half. A central point forms in the middle. Bend each of the 4 corners to this center point.
Step 2
Imagine the vertical center line in the middle of the square. Fold the right and left edges of the square to this line.
Now imagine the central horizontal line in the middle of the resulting rectangle. Fold the top and bottom edges to it.
Step 3
Expand the box as shown in the first photo.
Bend the corners inward, as shown in the second and third photo. A valve forms at the top - wrap it inside the box and straighten it.
Repeat on the other side. Done!
The lid for the box can be made on the same principle, taking a square of paper a little larger (1−2 cm, depending on the size of the box and the thickness of the paper).

How to make a box of paper or cardboard - the classic way
This method is well suited to make a small box of plain paper or a medium-sized box of paper denser, for example, from whatman paper. To make a large box in this way, take packing cardboard or thick rigid cardboard.
You will need:
- paper or cardboard;
- ruler;
- a pencil;
- paper scissors;
- glue or adhesive tape.
Step 1
Determine the box sizes you need. Draw a detail on paper / cardboard. For simplicity, you can first draw a rectangle or square of the bottom of the box. Then on each side add the height of the walls (it is the same on all sides).
Step 2
Fold the paper along the lines drawn. Squares form at the corners. Cut 1 side of each square with scissors (see photo).
Valves form. Lubricate each valve on the front with glue and stick to form the walls of the box.
Glue the cover as well. Done.

You will need:
- thick cardboard;
- colored paper;
- breadboard knife;
- mat mat;
- glue for paper;
- pencil and ruler;
- masking tape;
- paper scissors.
Step 1
Determine the shape and dimensions of the box and lid. The lid should be slightly larger than the box to be worn on top. Focus on the thickness of your cardboard and the size of the box.
Step 2
On cardboard, draw a box and a lid and cut it out.
At this stage, you can draw out the paper parts that will be used to paste the box and lid on it. Place the cardboard parts on the inside of the paper and circle, then add the parts for the inside and the flaps as shown in the diagram.
