Clutch books from French Olympia Le Tang are just the perfect way to reconcile high fashion and demanding intellectuality, which does not like to exchange things.

Of course, it was not Olympia Le Tan who first invented the clutches in the form of books, but she was the one who managed to turn them into an extravagant accessory, about which both the frivolous fashionista and the sophisticated intellectual would dream.
The daughter of the famous French illustrator Pierre Le Tan, Olympia from childhood became addicted to reading, which was greatly facilitated by the vast library of her father. Grandmother instilled a love for the girl’s embroidery, however, the creation of famous clutches in the form of books was preceded by many more years of training - at the age of 19, Olympia Le Tan began training with Karl Lagerfeld, and then, while working in the Chanel studio, she began to sew various handbags from tissue residues. The girl was noticed, her work began to appear in designer collections, but real success came, as usually happens, completely unexpectedly. One of Olympia's friends, the editor-in-chief of Purple magazine, Olivier Zam presented her a book - and, mind you, not even an art! But it was this book, in the hands with which Olympia was returning home that day, that led her to the idea of creating a “book” collection, which soon came to light under the title You can't Judge a Book by it's Cover ("Don't judge the book by the cover ").The very first in a series of books was the designer’s favorite book - “The Catcher in the Rye” by Jerome Salinger, and, in fairness, it should be noted that the first collection included only those books that the girl herself read.

According to Olympia herself, the process of creating a clutch consists of several stages. First of all, the designer and her assistants select covers - now, when the number of created accessories exceeds five hundred, of course, not only books are used, then sketches are created, in which minor changes are made if necessary. At the next stage, the sketch turns into real embroidery on thin felt. According to Olympia, due to high demand, she has long been unable to cope with the volume of hand embroidery, so five professional embroiderers from Japan work with her in a team.

Needless to say, Le Tan clutches became a hit among celebrities, Russian and foreign, and just among lovers of beauty! The practicality of the clutches also deserves special thanks, since from the point of view of functionality they are in no way inferior to the usual handbags, in which, by tradition, nothing can be placed except a bottle of perfume and lipstick. Well, and besides, the clutches of Olympia Le Tan are distinguished by their unusual compatibility - it seems that there is no such outfit with which they would look alien and non-winning. They are equally suitable for both strict trouser suits and light summer dresses.

However, these charming accessories have one minus - the price. It is not surprising that such delicate manual work is not cheap, no, but, given the current ruble exchange rate, the cost of the Olympia Le Tan clutch bag starts at 40 thousand rubles, continuing to a sad infinity that cannot but upset Russian fashionistas.
