They can be seen not only on children's things, although for them pompons of different colors and sizes are a must have. And they are often used in many parts of the world to decorate national costumes.

Today we offer workshops on making a belt and bag in Tyrolean style - of course, with pompons.
POMPONS DO VERY EASY

You will need a device for making pom-poms in the form of plastic rings (they are sold in different diameters, usually in one pack of rings for pom-poms of three, four or more diameters).

STEP 1 Open the device for making pompoms and wind the thread.
STEP 2 Close the device, cut the threads along the grooves, pull in the middle with the second thread and tie.
STEP 3 Remove the device and round the pompom with scissors.

A BAG
From scraps of fabric and thread for embroidery you can create an unusual and at the same time practical accessory. A roomy bag with a long handle that can be worn over the neck, on the shoulder, is very convenient for hiking in the mountains (or just for hiking).
YOU WILL NEED: A flap of black woolen fabric measuring 70 x 90 cm; thin rags of cotton or silk fabric 5 different colors; cotton threads for embroidery in different colors; 9 decorative buttons; device for the manufacture of pompons (Clover über Quiltzauberei); wool yarn Merino (Lang Yarns) 6 different colors; brown and white beads with a diameter of 4 mm; threads for sewing.
CUT TO:
Woolen fabric:
2 details of a bag 30 cm long and 28 cm wide, including allowances;
2 handle parts 90 cm long and 20 cm wide, including allowances.DESCRIPTION OF WORK
On each part of the bag, turn one section 28 cm long into a width of 1 cm, iron and stitch = top edge. From strips of fabric, cut out 6 strips 30 cm long and 3-4.5 cm wide. Paste the strips of fabric to the front of the bag as follows: the lower one at a distance of 1.5 cm from the lower edge, the upper one so that it protrudes the top edge of the bag is 1 cm wide. Pin the remaining strips between them. Stitch each strip along the longitudinal sections at a distance of 3 mm and 5 mm, while unscrewing the upper strip to the wrong side, rounding the upper edge of the front part of the bag. On the strips, sew various stitches for embroidery.
Fold the bag handle parts in half lengthwise and iron. Mow the longitudinal sections of the handles so that the width of the upper ends of the handle parts is 5 cm (from the bend). Spread out the details again. Stitch the upper ends of the handle parts face-to-face. Iron the longitudinal sections of the handle onto the seamy side, 1 cm wide. Pin one longitudinal edge of the handle to the side sections of the decorated front of the bag, aligning the lower sections of the handle and the front of the bag. Stitch the handle at a distance of 5 mm. Stitch the second longitudinal edge of the bag similarly to the back of the bag. Fold the bag details with the front side to the front side, grind the lower sections of the bag and the lower ends of the handle. Turn out the bag. Stitch the longitudinal edges of the handle above the upper edge of the bag.
On the front side of the bag, lay “forward needle” stitches along the bottom edges of the handle at a distance of 1 cm from the edge, along the seams of the handle and the seam and further along the longitudinal edge of the handle, the stitch length is approx. 5 mm. Make 8 different pompons. Sew pompons randomly on the front of the bag. Sew decorative buttons on the top strip of the bag. From cotton threads, perform 10 brushes. On the thread of the base of the hands, alternately string white and brown beads. Sew 5 brushes with beads at the same intervals at the lower ends of the handle.

BELT
Multi-colored embroidery, metal buttons and buckles, colorful pompons are typical for a Tyrolean costume. Such a belt used to serve instead of a wallet, it was a kind of pocket where people put money. As a rule, they decorated it not with pompons, but with feathers.
Length 70 cm, 75 cm, 80 cm, 85 cm.
YOU WILL NEED: Strip of woolen fabric 20 cm wide and long = belt length plus 2 cm; cotton yarn for embroidery of light green, yellow, red, pink and purple flowers; 4 decorative buttons; 2 buckles without pegs 4 cm high; silver chain 1.80 m long; device for the manufacture of pompons (Clover über Quiltzauberei); Wool yarn Merino (Lang Yarns) pink, yellow, orange, blue, green and red; black and white beads with a diameter of 4 mm; hook with a loop; threads for sewing.DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Fold a strip of fabric along in half with the front side inwards. Grind the longitudinal sections (with allowances for the seam - 1 cm). Iron the seam allowances, for this put the belt on the edge of the ironing board.Unscrew the belt and press it so that the seam lies on the wrong side in the middle. To complete the acute-angled ends, fold the belt along in half along the top side inwards. Stitch each end of the belt at a distance of 5 mm, unscrew and iron with a sharp corner.
On the belt, embroider (from the edges to the middle): overcast the outer edges with loop stitches to a width of approx. 7 mm, the distance between the stitches - 1 cm; then lay 1 row of chain stitch stitches, 1 row of “forward needle” stitches, 1 row of chain seam stitches, “forward needle” stitches, 1 row of cross stitches (7 x 7 mm stitch size), stitching in different colors ( see the photo in the magazine on page 108). Sew buckles to the belt at a distance of 5 cm from the acute-angled ends and decorative buttons at a distance of 9 and 14 cm from the acute-angled ends. Sew a silver chain in two rows in the middle of the belt. Lay the rows close to each other, while tracing the chain around the buttons.
Make 6 different pompons. Alternately black and white beads are strung on the pompom base thread. Sew 3 pompoms with beads at each end of the belt. Sew a hook at one end of the belt, and a loop at the other.
